The experience we would expect the ideal person to deliver is: SUMMARY OF ROLE The Staff Wet Etch/Clean Process Engineer develops and/or delivers new and existing Thin Film and Thermal process technologies through SunPower process development business process up to full production status. Staff Wet Etch/Clean Process Engineer reports to Sr. Staff Integration Engineer – Research Design and Deployment. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIESDevelops and deploys new or modified process formulations, defines processing or handling equipment requirements and specifications, and reviews processing techniques and methods applied in the manufacture, fabrication, and evaluation of products. Involvement may begin at any step from pilot plant to full-scale manufacturing. Coordinates design requirement review with appropriate engineering/scientific personnel to ensure compatibility of processing methods. Compiles and evaluates test data to determine appropriate limits and variables for process or material specifications. Works with SunPower business processes as required, meeting project objectives, and timelines. Interfaces with external vendors/material suppliers, consultants, customers, etc. to meet project objectives and timelines. Provides technical leadership to improve electrical and mechanical yield, suggests and implements solutions to process-related issues. Provides concise reports detailing the progress, status and outlook for projects assigned. Develops and/or deploys existing wet etching/cleaning processes as defined by R&D. Identifies opportunities and effectively execute development plans for wet etching/cleaning processes. Contributes to the operational activities of the Deployment team. Complies at all times the Environment, Health and Safety and Manufacturing Quality standards, rules and regulations. Performs other duties may be assigned. RELATED EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS Minimum requirements Educational Background: Bachelor’s/College degree in Physics, Chemistry, Engineering with minimum 2-year experience in semiconductor R&D or related field Doctoral/Master’s degree in Physics, Chemistry, Engineering (an advantage). Experience Knowledge of semiconductor materials, wet etching/cleaning processes Knowledge of etch/clean tools and processes (an advantage) Has experience working in an R&D organization (an advantage) Skills/competencies Very good knowledge and experience in data analysis, usage of statistical methods and design of experiment; good working knowledge and experience in SPC (Statistical Process Control). Familiar with standard high throughput manufacturing and failure analysis testing methods (an advantage). Experience with etch/clean processes in wafer fab. Excellent problem solving skills and attention to details. Experience in using problem solving methodologies (KT, 8D, RCCA, etc). Good communication and presentation skills. Detail-oriented and highly motivated to learn new things. Preferred requirements Educational Background: n/a Experience Experience with etch/clean processes in wafer fab.
