SUMMARY OF ROLE

 

SunPower is seeking a Cell Technology Deployment (CTD) Process Manager to develop new process technologies in support of new solar cell products which are critical in keeping SunPower’s leading competitive edge in the global PV market. This position is responsible as well for overall oversight of safety, performance and employee morale of RDD personnel as well as perform Project Management for the organization.  This position collaborates with the world’s leading PV R&D organization and advance laboratory facilities (in US and elsewhere) to create the world’s highest efficiency solar cell at competitive cost.

 

The CTD Process Manager reports directly to the Vice President – CTD, Research Development and Deployment (RD&D), and is based at the Fab 3 site (Melaka, Malaysia).

 

 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

 

Provides leadership and mentorship to RDD-CTD organization at Fab 3 Innovates and directly creates new processes leading to cutting-edge PV products Develops and deploys new processes from concepts originating at advanced R&D labs Defines equipment requirements and specifications to manufacture and test new processes/products Manages RDD projects, ensuring these are on-schedule, on-budget and on-target Effectively works with SunPower business processes as required, meeting project objectives and timelines Interfaces with external vendors/material suppliers, consultants and customers to meet project goals Communicates effectively with multiple levels of the organization, including top management Complies at all times the Environment, Health and Safety and Manufacturing Quality standards, rules and regulations

 

 

RELATED EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS

 

Minimum requirements

Educational Background: Bachelor’s degree in Physics, Chemistry, Engineering (minimum) Experience: Minimum 6-year experience with Bachelors’ Degree, minimum 4-year experience with Master’s Degree, minimum 2-year experience with Ph.D. Experience in several of the following: vacuum technology, thin film deposition, thermal diffusion, plasma physics, semiconductor device fabrication and modelling Skills/ competencies: Ability to lead and manage technical teams Ability to creatively tackle challenging projects Excellent leadership and management skills Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail Excellent communication and presentation skills Detail-oriented and highly motivated to learn new things Experience in data analysis, usage of statistical methods and design of experiment in R&D or manufacturing environment

 

Nice-To-Have requirements (an advantage)

Skills/Competencies: Ability to lead teams of engineers (actual leadership experience a strong plus) PV or semiconductor device physics knowledge at a working level (strong plus) Familiarity with manufacturing failure analysis and reliability testing methods Working knowledge of thermal diffusion processes in wafer or PV fab Working knowledge of plasma physics and thin film deposition processes in wafer or PV fab (strong plus)
