The experience we would expect the ideal person to deliver is: Key responsibilities and accountabilities: -Compiles and evaluates test data to determine appropriate limit and variables for process or material specifications. -Interface and coordinate with R&D, Operations, and Reliability groups on next technology platform requirements. -Explore new technology or opportunity in ingot growth or wafering processes. -Plans, executes and analyzes wafering & ingoting processes at partner site. -Rigorous experiments on key wafering & ingoting process steps (ingot pulling, ingot cropping/grinding, ingot slicing, ingot bond, wafer debond, wafer clean, and wafer inspection). -Communicates with and drive vendors/partners, equipment/material vendors for tool/material/process development. -Failure analysis on silicon wafers, cell or module product related to ingot growing & wafer slicing. -Audits and qualifies silicon vendors and suppliers. -Contributes to strategic initiatives of the Silicon Team. -Enhances overall ability of SunPower to succeed at silicon cost reduction initiatives. -Leads cost reduction projects, including opportunity identification, cost analysis, project planning, execution and reporting. -Works with SunPower business processes as required to meet project objectives and timelines. -Interfaces with external vendors/material suppliers, consultants, customers, etc. to meet project objectives and timelines. -Provides concise reports detailing the progress, status and outlook for projects assigned. -Complies at all times with the Environment, Health and Safety and Manufacturing Quality standards, rules and regulations. -Independently plan and execute experiments/development projects to solve key technical issues associated with ingot growth/wafering/product integration. -Performs other duties may be assigned. Qualifications: -Education: M.S. Degree in Physics with 1~3 years of working experiences or other related science/engineering fields with 3~5 years of experience in silicon ingot growing & wafering processes. -Capable of establishing improvement plans for new/current technology to drive down cost. -Problem solver, strong analytical/statistical skills and capable of modelling based on data -Demonstrable leadership skills -Self-motivated, self-learner, quick learner, organized and attentive to details -Acts with very minimal supervision -Good presentation, verbal and written communication skills -Willing to travel to and work at SunPower manufacturing sites and/or suppliers, ~30-40% of the time with an extent of up to 4 weeks. -Can work across departmental boundaries to form cross-functional teams per the requirements of individual projects. -ul
