World leader in the cable manufacturing industry seeking a Maintenance Engineer based in Alor Gajah, Melaka.
Your new company
Our client is an MNC specializing in the production of cables used primarily in industries such as energy and communications.
Your new role
- Primarily improve machine and equipment, good & safe operation and make continuous improvements to enhance the performance.
- Implement Preventive, Predictive and Corrective maintenance. Managing external service contractors.Execute and coordinate intercompany activities (buying and selling from affiliates) for full Oceania-South East Asia region.
- Adhere to safety and environment requirement by DOE, DOSH, BOMBA and HQ.
- Responsible for departmental objective and goal.
- In-charge of Machinery, Utility, Facility and Safety functions.
- Improving equipment and machinery performance and make continuous improvements to enhance the effectiveness, MTTR, MTBF and cost.
- Ownership to define and implement an effective machinery and equipment Preventive & Predictive Maintenance program to continually improving MTBF.
- Responsible to establish a comprehensive machinery MTBF and MTTR statistic and follow-up action.
- Identify and implement improvement projects among Maintenance department personnel to continually improve the machinery & equipment reliability and capability.
- To analyze and submit engineering / technical and general reporting.
- Provide mechanical / electrical engineering, maintenance assistance, coordination and troubleshooting in the day-today operations.
- Develop contingency plan for critical machinery & equipment and their repair strategy.
- Responsible for Maintenance Supervisor’s and Technicians' performance, by providing guidance, competency training and lead them to achieve department target and objective.
- Work closely and support other departments in achieving Company objective.
- Enforce adherence to safety, environment and 5S awareness in Maintenance department.
- Coordinate removal or installation of machinery in-house or external.
- Liaise with related personnel and Governmental bodies (DOE, DOSH) to ensure compliance to related regulations.
- Inspect and audit of workplace to identify potential hazards to safety.
- Committed to other duties and responsibilities as assign.
What you'll need to succeed
- Diploma / Degree in electrical / mechanical / mechatronics engineering or equivalent.
- 3-5 years of strong working experience in similar field.
- Knowledge of maintenance, safety & environment standard and applicable laws and regulation.
- Knowledge of cable manufacturing machinery and equipment an added advantage.
- Strong analytical capability, leadership skills, self-motivated & problem solving skills.
- Good people management, effective communication and interpersonal skill.
- Good time management skills and ability to meet deadlines effectively.
- Able to perform under fast pace and challenging environment.
- Ability to work extra hours occasionally
